Thanks Marty, that means a lot coming from you. It is an 8:1, and pretty quick!

    Thats a really cool drawing!

We started working more on the controls of the car. The shifter is a B&M series 60, one of many from @Lytles Garage shifter stash. The car will have rear brakes only, and be a hand brake only. @Lytles Garage made this cool aluminum brake handle. It ties into a wilwood master cylinder. Also got a start on the chute handle and mounting the fire system. All the controls will be operated with your right hand.

I know the series 60 shifter has been used in many cars over the years, but my favorite is in the Bizio 33 Willys pickup. It was found and restored by Tom Wilford-RIP and @Marty Strode. My dad got to be good friends with both of them and raced against Tom many times in his 33 willys coupe. I only met Tom a few times before he passed, but have watched hours and hours of home videos and pictures from the 80's-early 90's NW Willys racing days. Seeing the shifter in the car always reminds me of Tom, his Beautiful pickup, and all the racing stories I've heard of over the years.

This is the most complete the car has been at this point all mocked up. I can't wait to see it with the doors on and chopped!

To remedy the cut cowl area. Instead of making a strip to be welded in, I cut out the entire top. Since the cowl vent area was trashed and not going to be used anyway, and the drivers side was patched with a 34 long ago this was just going to be way easier.

@Lytles Garage finished up the brake handle. It now sports a set of polished linen micarta grips and polished handle. It also will handle the fuel shutoff lever, so a one handed motion to brake and cut fuel.

@Lytles Garage has been working on the anti rotation device, we got it fit to the car this weekend. The rearend will have to break four 360° welds and shear six 1/2" grade 8 bolts for this to even come into play.

A few more body mounts to keep everything in line and not move around under punishment. The b pillar mounts will also strengthen the center hinge area.

Looks like a lot of progress going on there. That cage looks close to SCTA specs for the fast coupes.

Yeah we used a NHRA and SCTA rule-book for requirements and specifics.

Thanks for the kind words about the chrome. We've enjoyed watching this build—can't wait to see how it turns out!

This weekend I worked on getting the doors hung. I rebuilt the hinge area on the b pillar and got the 4 door hinges knocked around so the door fits in the hole and body lines line up. Then I got to work on fitting the doortops. Lots of cutting and tacking to make everything work out. A little bit of smoothing out when they finally get hammer-welded and they will be perfect.

Amazing work, no rear suspension or plan to have any is this how they typically run a car of this type. Looks bad ass!
