Thats down 1 1/2" and with a adapter i can raise the carbs 2" all while gaining about 1 1/2" more setback at the block. Looks like a win win win! Im liking it

Thanks to Tony Turner @Dog_Patch and Nick Smithberg @402BOSSMAN for use of the killer crates that keep UPS from destroying precious cargo

Screenshot_2018-01-29-20-28-48.png At first i thought these heads were early donovans but i now believe they were made by Al Sharp in 1963... Way cool stuff

Message_1517271868199.jpg As you can see they are quite different from stock.....im gonna need serious adapter plates to make these work. The ports are rather serious

getPart-8.jpg D shaped exhausts but not as massive as the 417 donovan heads. I think these should flow good

Hey Nick @402BOSSMAN The intake ports are almost as wide as the OD of the runners on the hot heads tunnel ram! Im sure i can open up the intake some. Any idea how much HP that tunnel ram can support? I know Gene Adams had a hand in that one and didnt you guys use it in the Engine Masters competition?

Just because it is big doesn't always mean it flows good. It may surprise you, especially some of the stuff I have seen. I'd be happy to take a look at them for you.

That Hot Heads intake was designed around Injected Nitro for A/Fuel and works great for 9000 RPM. Anything less it doesn't make that good of power due to a really short intake runner when you start looking at the harmonic length side of it for a N/A engine. Blower apps its fine. For the Engine Masters deal (my Profile Picture) it was filled with epoxy internally to make the runners as long as possible. I think it ended up at 23" for a total intake tract length which was ideal for the Engine Masters Rules and 2500-6500 RPM pulls. Think of it as making a internal stack injection inside that Profile Picture. Rules that year stated no stack injection ie individual runner (Hilborn/Enderle), required a single plane manifold when using EFI, a 4 hole throttle body, no external modifications but any internal modifications. This was pushing the gray area just like what Kaase did this past year with his cylinder head/head gasket deal. The result for us in 2012 was Runner Up, Torque Monster, Editor's Choice Awards followed that one not to mention a few articles in some magazines. Always boils down to engine design, lots of math, and understanding the application in which it is to be used.

blower.jpg Extra long runners huh??? Something like this maybe?

  15. They are definitely interesting heads. You still have the shipping boxes, it would be interesting to see what they flow. Its about $45 to Fort Calhoun Nebraska from here.

I always love seeing high and mighty pics. Gotta love seeing adjustable intake runners. I bet someone could use the same set up for tuning than make a matching sheet metal intake once things are figured out.

"High & Mighty" if the Chrysler Engineers were at it today. Wild idea that works and works well. Still need to compile my info into a video but you all catch the drift.......Its real and it works!

I'd be happy to take a closer look at those heads, flow test, and give my opinion of them. I've worked on the majority of the heads out there, not these as of yet.

Good to see you back on it!

You planning on going fast with that thing, or just dumping gas in it with those carbs?.........:D

Lots of precision to get 8 stacks to move like that.

Im sorry to hijack, I just live Hemis and unique inductions so all this gets me going.

Yes, RPM based. I can control it many different ways. Inter-workings is still "skunkworks."

No worries on the hijack Nick. Very cool stuff you got going there. Im wondering if i could make a rubber hose manifold to get real HP. Back in the day they were running 12s with the high and mighty i believe
