20171119_091212.jpg Well I will represent my Uncle Ray and the timeless Merc Tophats. Though not the exact size tires he had on the original AMBR roadster, I would love to think I did justice to his vision. Wheels and Stance....

It seems we agree about the importance of wheels and stance we just don't agree which wheels and what stance.
What ever it is tires are part of the wheel side and placement is part of stance. Not the same for all cars but if it's not right nothing else you do can fix it.

I think Scott Sullivan has a pretty good understanding of this. This recent job and the '54 he did are of the few that come to mind when this topic comes up in any conversation.

I cant really agree that just wheels and stance can make a car.
For me its the overall look of the car that make it "pop".
When nothing stick out and all parts belong together then the car is great.
Right wheels and stance is just a part in the all package.

Ryan Reeds 37 has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. I remember the first magazine feature I saw of it, it just had such an amazing stance, then I saw it in person at the CHRR some years back, not only the way the car sits but the fit and finish is top shelf.
This car should be the poster child to show how wrong people were for years calling the 37 Ford an "ugly duckling".

I drove that Chevy across the country twice, and up the California coast. Man, it was nice. I think, in retrospect, that it was because the 283 was getting wheezy, and the iron PG was likewise on it's way out. Too many projects, and too little time dictated that I wasn't gonna work on the Impala. I sold the wrong car.
