Looking at all the posts about taking out the Ford banjo pinon gear you push from the inside and it pops out. We'll I did that and now it's still stuck. What am I not doing right IMG_20180128_164559372.jpg

Heat up the housing quickly to expand it , and try again., or shrink the bearing race by Welding a bead around it and try again

That's where you take two bearings and roll them across the floor and see which one gets there first.

    Sorry.... Just had to.

You cannot do that with this setup. The pinion bearings are a cartridge, which is two races, as one piece, back-to-back. That is pressed in, and pressed out. Even if you take the nuts off, and pull out the forward bearing cone, you would only get to that side of the cartridge, and you'd risk trashing the pinion by welding near it.

Easy with a whipped up pusher/puller. Please do not use a small bottle jack inside case! Ron

Made this tool...it works fine. Don't line the bolts up with the holes as shown instead place something under them to protect the threads. Impact wrench shown but didn't need it.

I really wish they'd let us use the press at work. I was trying with a scissor jack in a vice yesterday. Probably gonna have to see if the maker space has a press and a torch.
