Technical cleaning the spindles

    I had to leave a lot of bigger parts outside this winter, I don't have any indoor storage, and that included the front axle. I wrapped the spindles in saran wrap, but it looks like it came off on one side and not there's some surface rust on the spindle it self. Can I just clean these of with some emory cloth and call it good?

    If it is just surface rust, no deep pits, yes you can clean it off, I prefer scotch brite pads.

    It takes a lot of sitting outside in the weather to ruin a spindle. Decades down here, at least a year and a half up there.

    Sand it, see how it looks.
