    Looks like you put it in a hole and it looks at a right angle. Like put it in a hole in the wall and be able to look up or down inside the wall.

    I'm thinking you could look behind structural steel welds in tight locations to check penetration perhaps?

    The mirror must be to double down on the available light on the surface you are inspecting???

    I was going to say something carried by Maxwell Smart or James Bond. I guess the mirror is to reflect natural light. Reading the use ^^^^^, maybe to inspect your welds out in the field, for weld boring insects? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

  26. My guess is A REFRACTOMETER, used (for example) to measure sugar concentration in liquids such as maple syrup.

    Yes, a better way for measuring specific gravity -density- compared to say a hydrometer. Useful for battery maintenance, checking the freeze point of engine coolant, beer making. But, I wouldn't use the same one for all activities mentioned.
