Art & Inspiration What's something cool to display in the back of a '50's station wagon?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mbstude, Jan 21, 2018.

  1. Right now I would just like some one to trade my 56 Chrysler Windsor for a station wagon here on the H.A.M.B.Bruce. 001.JPG

I had in my 54 Ford Wagon a brown metal coffin made for the unclaimed folks. It was made sometime in the early 1960s, no dirt on it so I don't think it was a used one.

.....pretty good chance that the 50’s cheerleader may not have aged as well as the wagon, though.

You could always use a modern cheerleader dressed to look like a '50's model. It gets done with SBC, tires, wheels, patch panels etc. I think a modern "chassis" with period correct looks would be fine, too.

First aid kit, a picnic basket (filled with roadside emergency supplies), and a Pendleton blanket. Whatever you use, it has to be a little understated to not detract from the car. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

That car doesn't need anything, except me driving it! That's a nice wagon!

Went out drinking in my parents wagon many years ago. Buddy ralphed in the back. Dad wasn't too pleased.

I guess, I'm not really suggesting this.

If it was an 18 year old daughter in that 55 wagon, she'd be 81 now [don't hold that thought:eek:]

Get a small southbend lathe nd some tools and make a replica of the southbend tool salesman car,
You could make it ona slide out platform or pallet so as to use the car normally.
Theres a photo in "vintage shots"

Dick Steinkamp's '53 Stude "Kart Hauler" is what has me thinkin' that I need a vintage kart.. I followed the restoration of that car nearly a decade ago and I still love it now. The biggest hold back is that the last thing I need is another expensive hobby, and I can't think of anywhere that I could drive it. It'd be too much of a tease to have an old racing kart and not be able to run the snot out of it.

The stuffed alligator idea has merit.. Gainesville is the home of the Florida Gators, Gatorade, etc.. It'd be a hit with the locals.

Thanks for all the ideas.. Good and bad.

I just finished a big thick book about nuclear physics and the making of the bomb. A cold war era car like that would look good with an atom bomb in the back.

Do a family picanic basket from the ranger station.

Get those stupid dolls with no faces, tie them up and lay them in the back.

The absolute best thing to display in the back of an old wagon?

30 pair of bare naked boobs. (extra points for a sheen of oil on them)

    .....sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I usually dont care for props, but the vintage cooler and lawn chairs are a great idea, useful at a show so its no longer a prop.

Could always go with a piled up blanket, pair of thigh highs, and 1 high heel. Vintage shagging wagon display.
