I got a 58-62 283 short block bored to 301, a 73 truck 350, misc SBC pieces and 2 40's Ford 16s from a junk pile out in the boonies. The owner is selling off his dead father in laws stuff for cheap. There's a '47 big Ford cut off at the cab I might go back for in the spring. It's still got a flathead in it.

I'm excited about the 301 block. It may have been a screamer at one point. The pistons are toast, but the block seems OK so far. If it checks out, it might be just what I've been after for my coupe. The 350 got wet, so it might be a boat anchor. I got it all cheap enough that I can recycle it and not cry....

It was nice to get out of town and drag home some crap to tinker with.

Good on ya' for saving that stuff, hope it all turns out to be useable. Whatever we don't save will be lost forever.

I got a neat '59 Mercury steering wheel for my collection and a handful of resale trinkets, nothing really great but it was so warm out it was nice to go poke around in a junkyard this Friday.

  18. Weather was good, so started gathering parts for the Cape Swap Meet next month.
I got a box of 21 old gauges at a flea market, 11 of them were Stewart Warner.
Also picked up a F W Stewart model 800 Speedometer Calibration machine, lots of misc parts and pieces, pluged it up, the light came on and the motor runs.
Cannot find any info on this machine, if anyone has any, would like to know how all of this works.
Will try to post pictures Monday
    Thanks

Went to a local swap meet > bought a 380 Ruger pistol > GO FIGURE.
On a positive note, I ran into a friend that has a lead on a pair of 15 x 6 vintage original American Racing "D" spokes.

The day before Chassis Engineering ended it's liquidation sale I tried ordering the 41-48 shock kit. The order never went through and was canceled. Talking to someone on the Fordbarn they bought the same kit just for the shocks, and sold me the bracketry for $25.
