Technical Freeing up stuck mopar 413

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by johnfin, Jan 19, 2018.

  1. Earlier you said the cylinders looked good. Does the cam turn now with no chain? Lifters move?
Not seeing the big picture here ,or any pictures for that matter.
If you think it's the crank that's stuck ,then just pour about 3 gallons of ATF mix in it and let it soak. Then work the crank back and forth with a pry bar or breaker bar.

That'll work, too. Use large drip pan. :D .

IIRC the 413 has a rocker shaft assembly on each head. I would certainly remove them before attempting to rotate the engine. It's just a few bolts to remove and eliminates the sticking valves /rockers from the problem. I got a stuck nailhead and there was no way it was going to rotate without removing the rocker shafts.
