Canuck, post the link to your old build thread, there are probably a few guys here who would like to check it out...

Thanks for the great comments on the A, makes my day.

Russ, the problem with the old build thread is, it was a victim of the infamous Photoshop shut down so I removed everything from their site. The good news is, most of it is still available on the Wordpress blog site linked at the bottom of my posts, it is basically a start to finish history. If anyone is looking for additional detail, just give me a PM and will do all that I can to help.

Thanks AVater expanding on your compliment I wouldn't mind having your Special Coupe in my harem of Hotrods to play around with either...

  6. ...I love Model A's,...I'd take one over an over-rated 32 or 33-4 anyday,...I just like the design,...as an artist I always gravitate back to Model A's.
They all look cool, even rusty old bones...

Prefer '30/'31 cowl, it's like the concept car prototype for the progression to '32 design. Majority of Model A's are real steel, blue-collar hot rods. Not fiberglass trailer queens... if only there were a million more Henry Ford 32,33,34's, that'd be fun.

Model A Fords have been a main contributor to the longevity of hot rodding in my view at least...

The 30-31 model A coupe and roadster are my two favorite pre war cars hands down.

Which body year do you like best?
I like the 28-9 best. The fenders wrap the front wheels and the cowl is more subtle.

I'm more partial to the '30-'31, mostly because of the front cowl being as wide as the firewall. For me, the '28-'29 looks like the cowl was added as an afterthought, or like the cowl was from a different car and just attached. BUT - if any of you have a '28-'29 Model A body, I'll gladly accept it!!!!!

On the difference in body styles, has anyone differentiated between the '28-'29 and the '30-'31 with a nickname? Like, "Model A 1.0 and Model A 2.0"? Or maybe Gen 1 and Gen 2 Model A's? "20's vintage Model A" vs. a "30's vintage Model A"?

I personally prefer 28/29 stuff because that is where I have locked myself into with accumulated parts etc.
However, I have a lot of respect for the 30/31 shape and believe personally again that this shape really sticks it to the 32's.
Nothing better for my eyes than a 30/31 body on a 32 frame with a 32 grille, but also nothing wrong with a 30/31 grille...

I agree, mostly because alot of folks like to marry up a '32 grille with the model A. It seems a Model A grille with the Model A body has become more rare. And I've noticed there's no aftermarket '30-'31 grilles (at least in steel) out there, but I can buy a '28-'29 or a '32 grille all day long....

Well, I guess we are done with the voting now.
I was not surprised about how high the vote for Standard coupes was going to be but a bit surprised how low the vote for Sports coupes was!
If anybody wants to keep it going by all means post your comment or vote, but I think we have the general idea of where the interest is now...
I am still surprised nobody out there makes repro sheet metal to convert other coupes into Standard coupes.
How cool would a chopped repro sheet metal roof be, once bought just chop your doors and cowl at home and its done???

  26. 30-31 Standard Coupes for me Russ, with 30-31 grill shells.
28-29 A’s ,as much as I like them look like they should have a horse in front of them,
a bit to coach looking.I do miss my Tudor though.

Those front fenders surely resemble 28-29s. Good-looking ride.
