Some of you probably know that Dan drove the winning GT40's at LaMans in the 60's . He was so tall that they had to form a blister in the top for his helmet to clear . A few years back I was driving and pulled up at a stop light behind Dan Gurney in his red late model GT40 , probably the only new one Ford built with a top blister .
Due to my age I became aware of Dan years after he drove the AAR Cuda in the Muscle car wars/era, if I remember correctly Keith Black was involved in destroking the 340’s for these to kick ass. I know those words are not HAMB friendly but lets take a minute to acknowledge all his accomplisgments in all aspects of racing. R.I.P
