What do you need done? My 35's had a few bent spokes that I straightened myself after I had the wheels media blasted.
There is a mobile wheel fixing that is out of nepa area. He isn’t cheap and works on new and old rims. It’s pricy but has good results. Sometimes better looking for another rim. I had some blasted locally and he told me they were rough. I didn’t get to look at em but had em powder coated. I picked them up and they were rough, he didn’t charge me and told me to get another wheel. I’ve done a few sets since.
Just a heads up before you go investing your cash. Set them up and do a run out check on them to see if they are even usable. I had a set of 4 I had blasted and powder coated. When I went to install the Coker tires I had 1 wheel was so bad, even tho it looked fine, that they said they couldn't get it to balance and suggested I find another. I did and got it blasted and coated and then all was good.
If the nicks are none structural, just use bondo to repair them. As for the lips, get a 2" long piece of round stock that fits tightly in the lip an and bend it to fit the curvature, then use some flat stock to weld to it to maintain the shape and use a hammer to repair the lip, go slow , it isn't that hard. As far as looking for old wire wheels, never buy a wheel that still has the tire mounted. After the tube goes flat, it traps moisture under the tube and around the stem hole and causes a lot of corrosion. This holds true for any tube mounted rim.
Seems like the fad is over on the '35 wires. They were all over Hershey this fall really nice ones and average ones going for between $30 and $50 each. For those prices, it don't seem practical to invest a lot in repair work.
I bough 9 really nice ones from a local guy for $180. The fad being over might have something to do with having to pay $150-$300 each for 16" tires.
