About a year ago I dragged this body home and had it sitting for a while before I finally started building in february of 2017. this is what has happened so far, hope to have it done for next season. It will have some traditional stuff put in it, 39-40 mostly, but a steering box from 48 and a french flathead snuck in there. It'll all e built on a model A frame I dragged out of a barn some odd years ago that had a rotten 4 door body falling off it. I'm no genius and worst of all with computers so if I somehow fucked this post up, I'm sorry.
Looking good! I just acquired a 27 roadster body. Yours looks to be in great shape. Mine needs a ton of work. Especially the rear subframe. Ill be following along. Good luck
It's in pretty good shape for sure, some sheet metal needed repairs and its hacked off in the rockers but most of it is intact and subframe is really nice. Let me know if you need measurements or anything, I know it's simple stuff but this was still pieced together with original rivets and pretty straight. Was gonna post some progress today but realized all my pics are on the computer, had a break in at the garage tonight. They stole my welder and some tools but didn't touch any of my parts luckily.
Haha, any of my car parts that is.. Not that they touched any of my private parts either.. Skickat från min iPhone med H.A.M.B.
Made some progress lately. Had some shitheads break into my garage and steal all my tools so the build was down for a few months but now I'm back. Frame is about done, needs a few finish welds before paint, engine is rebuilt, just put an order for new wheel bearings and some other good stuff so soon it will be on all four. Hope to have it running and driving in April. Skickat från min iPhone med H.A.M.B.
In post number 9, is that the patch panel that is available through Macs or Howells? If so, how well does it fit? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I bought it through Lang's, might be the same but I don't know. It fit pretty good, not without some modification but I feel like that's always the case with patches you buy. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Wow, amazing work even after your break in. I'm glad to see more 27 roadster post lately, I really love what you're doing. Can't wait to see it. @Texas36 have you seen this build?
IM still working on this, found parts of a rough roof today that I will try to chop down and make work on this. Have been slow with the updates here but most of the mechanics is done, just have to put it all together. Still have a tank and steering column to build but other than that it’s pretty much off to the races. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Set the body on it yesterday. Got a ways to go still, but getting closer. This is pretty close to how it will sit tho. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Is that a genuine '27 lower windshield frame, Emil? (or repro?) They're way overpriced around here, so I got some 7/8" round aluminum bar stock and had it 'notched' its full length. (two lengths @ 48") Plenty to bend, shape, and weld corners. Glass will press in with the 'windshield gasket' material. I'd still rather have the original, but...Hey, it's a hot rod!
^^^^ I'm in the same boat. Can't justify spending those prices. I made mine out of 7/8 electrical conduit. Car is looking great
It’s a repro, got it from speedway motors I believe. Got some original posts to do some repairs on but this is all repro stuff. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
