I stocked up on a bunch of stuff earlier this week. I wish I could have afforded more. I will probably sell some of the stuff I don't need, but I was hoping to make another run into town. Not positive and no one would comment, but there was an Alston Race Cars trailer out front Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if Heidt's has a bunch of new stuff in the near future...
I guess I should have read this post and added to my response. Indeed everything says Heidt's will be where to get the stuff now.
http://www.chassisengineeringinc.com/blog/tag/front+end I like what justabeater37 says above. It would be great if Heidt made all the CE parts now.
No, they were pretty low on those. I have a bunch of triangulated 4 link kits, a Model A 4 bar front, several of the 1" drop crossmembers, a half dozen or so sets of 4" dropped steering arms for drum brakes, a 35-6 Ford wishbone splitting kit, and a ton of boxed frame engine mounts.
From what I saw, They made 90%, went there many of times and saw the owner Roy, welding up parts along with his help. So sad to see it end. RIP Roy.
That is great news. The old tried and true bolt on solutions will continue to be available. It would have been a heck of a loss to hot rodding for those products to just go away. I'm not knocking any other manufacturers as they all have their niche and purpose for which we all are thankful. Keeping CE products among the possibilities should serve us all well. Happy Al
i wonder if they bought all the welding & fab equiptment also ?? what about roys personal collection of vehicles ??
Good news - I really like Chassis Engineering parts - back in Sept 2017 bought some for my 1939 Ford from a stocking dealer in North Carolina.
My welder was down, (1998) so I called and asked about some Chassis Engineering Chrysler hemi mounts. The young man that answered said the owner, Roy, had made up a couple of sets for his own Chrysler hemi. They weren't in the catalog yet, so I got the pair for $16 + shipping, another $7. Nice mounts, proportionally correct, bolt patterned bores perfect. I also have the entire kit for rear spring change over for my '47 sedan. Nothing I would change, bracketing and springs are first class. I'll box the frame tails, however. Original channel was good to hold the fuel tank, NOT a fat Ford with grandchildren as passengers...
