History yesteryears fillin stations

I love old stations and old buildings. I always take back roads when traveling. A few years back I built some in my back yard. Frank

 

built in 1946 torn down in the 1990s March's on 36317 Gratiot avenue Clinton township , MI
The small building was one of two cabins that were built to accommodate travelers
who were going from Detroit to Port Huron. were to the left of top photo

 

Looks like some of March’s is still there. Just has a larger multi pump canopy and it’s buildings repurposed for this Marathon Gas Proprietor.

I could look at these pix forever . heres what I built at my house . future plans call for 2nd island , and motel . diner soon to follow ,as business will support !!

 

...here's a new book I just picked up that any one interested in gas stations mite like, it measures 11x14" and 355 pages with over 2100 different gas stations pictured from every state in the US.
..it shows the first gas station in the US and goes from there.

A station that used to be on the property where my storage building is now. Most of the pump island is still there.
