Hi everybody, I am thinking about putting in a flathead V8 in my Willys delivery. What would be a good motor to put in and be able up the horse power? What does everybody think? Thanks Steve

My 8 BA came out of a Jeep Wagon and they really had to cobble up the exhaust to get it to work. on the driver's side. Better engineering now as that was done a long time ago and it was that family's hunting rig for a lot of years until they tore up the transmission.

Should work. A flathead pulls my '48 F1 pretty decent. It's probably heavier than your Willys.

It was not an uncommon swap. There was an adaptor available for the 59 and 8BA. I want to do this to my CJ3. I have my eyes on an old willys pickup with an 8BA at a neighbors.

Bought a Willys Cj3A that had had a flathead in it. Firewall all butchered up to get it to fit. 289 or small block Chev fits better.

A stock 305 Chevy or a 302 Ford will pull better than flathead . If you have to have a flathead ford looks then go for it. Would not be my choice. I had a flathead in a 53 ranch wagon and drove it everywhere with no issues ,just slow.

  10. If you want to run a Chevy V8, I have a NOS transdapt adapter for sale.
