I saw a bone stock Willys at Pate. It had a tiny 4cylinder engine---a far cry from the gasser wars

Wow, those coupes sold for a hell of a lot of money!!!!

Maybe it's time for me to sell my 39 Willys Ute.

I know where a Duster is I need to go buy. LOL Some of the other cars seemed to be decent buys.

I think it's rich dudes that don't leave their computer. It's easy to click a button to buy a car, click a button to deliver if you have the moolah..

  12. I think I heard the buyers were on site. A friend from Minnesota went down on Friday (9 hours of driving each way) to pre-view and was so disappointed he didn't even stay for the auction on Saturday

Wow I like the guitar about as much as the willys. Is it for sale? Those willys were all rough and way overpriced. Auction frenzy stuff. Rough, rough stuff which a lot are but they sold for big dollars.

  19. Are they sure its a 37 under there? Not even the rear fenders or wheels are 37 and hydraulic brakes ! 40 hoods don't just bolt on to a 37, 38 yes. JW

  20. That is extremely rare. Everyone knows '33 - '42 Willys came factory stock with Halibrand mags, Chrysler 354 hemi, 671 blower, Hilborn injection, Hydro tranny, narrowed Olds, rear end and tilt 'glass front end. Candy paint job and gold leaf lettering were customer specified options.

Yeah, for a 58k opening bid there better be at least pics of it on a lift! Video would help to. I remember reading that some potential bidders drove pretty far last time and were disappointed when they saw the condition of the cars in person.
