It would be really cool to see other pictures from this photo shoot. The red and black T’s are great examples of early sixties buckets, before they all looked the same. Please post if there are more.

Yes I remember an article in Hot Rod about those, but it might take me a week or so to find it. I really liked the '27 roadster because it appeared to have an altered wheel base.

The pictures of the Dragmasters Ts are outtakes from a July '65 Car Craft article, but have also appeared in Rod & Custom through the years. The red '27 was a glass body with a lengthen glass bed. The owner, Dave Krause was a sports car racer and had the Dragmaster team assemble the car for him and his wife.
It is this very car and article that started my passion for Hot Rods.

  9. Here's a '60s style race car/hot rod that I am kind of digging on lately. Of course it was actually built in the '48-'52 time period. LOL But it will genuinely fit the '60s era if no one tells you. LOL

Wheels and engine will go a long way toward making it a '60s car. ;) DAEF049C-73E5-44A6-9DC5-61A72E40A354.jpeg

  11. It looks like pure unadulterated fun to me. There is a lot to tell about it before I even get started with it but it won't be home 'til about mid month and by then I'll hopefully have my head wrapped around it.

It took me longer to locate more pics and I think there are more around some where, but this is what I found so far.[/ATTACH] Scan_20171226 (2).jpg Scan_20171226 (3).jpg

Those were just pretty cool. Who could imagine that a tube chassis was available for a streeter.

I’d love to reproduce that chassis someday. I’m not sure what the deal was on that altered wheelbase. Glad it didn’t catch on.

''Tom Booth's '14 T features torsion-bar suspension and a Chevy with fuel injection.''
    Photo: Bob Wagner.

This car was in the first Street Rod Pictorial (1969) page 30.

That's the real first McDonald's in San Bernardino. I lived 2 blocks from it when I was a sophomore. Whatever happened to Bob Wagner? My old drag partner used to whip his ass in his 58 Chevy with his 56 PowerGlide.

This is 1963 at Fontana. My only car. The BBC was filming something and I had to drive into the scene and answer some questions . . . "29 Ford, 63 Corvette engine, 53 Cadillac transmission, Enderle fuel injection, etc." I don't think I had entered it. It was not drag fast (like Dean's) but held its own on the street.

Does anyone have pictures of Tim Morgan's '29 coupe? He is from Clayton, California (Concord). It had a Nailhead with 6 twos. He was a friend of the Himisls and Art painted it. It was in the Oakland Roadster show in the '60s maybe '63_'64. He ran it a Lodi Dragstrip. Quite a local character and our hero in high school. The car belongs here.
