Hot Rods What is the advantage of this model A banger modification ?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 34 GAZ, Dec 28, 2017.

  1. Not the carbs but the distributor ? Looks like the V8 distributor has only one cap o_O Next question, is it possible to sit  in a refined manner in the middle :D

I was going to say to get the girl to sit on your lap, but the girl in the car behind them is way closer to the driver and has a whole seat to sit on. As far as the motor goes, I don't know....

  3. ............Absolutely not. As you can note, you can't see the young lads hands except for the one on the wheel!;)

  5. Aside from my comments............it is a very cool photo. I can't speak to the modification. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than myself will know something.

I wonder where the shift lever is. Maybe that's why she's smiling.

From the looks of the valve cover and the wing nut holding it that is a Miller/Schofield, or a later Cragar head. By adapting the V8 distributor dual points and an advance system were gained, and it appears two plug wires are coming from each cap.
Ingenuity in action, before the days of bubble packed, 1-800-chk-book hot rodding.

  12. Keep finding interesting things in this photo. Is that a mechanical brake rod extreme lower right ?
