Hi guys. I have always liked a channeled 32 3 window coupes. But not many are getting built nowadays,so I started to build one with a body I got from charile at genes hot rods. But in order to do that I had to sell of my 34 5 window coupe. I have started my chassis work first. I'l do my best with keeping everyone up dated. I'l post a mock up photo then step by step. Thanks 20171025_161224.jpg 20171024_093500.jpg 20171025_161224.jpg

Yes it is. As the caddy has the starter motor on the right hand side. So I will have more room on the left hand side for pedals and steering

Looking good Steve. As does the concrete driveway. And the pickup is done?

I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on this one, you have built some good cars before and you get a lot done in quick time.

Channeled 32, I love it. In a sea of highboys a channeled car is a fresh site.

So after I got the chassis all clamped to the table. I started figuring out the steering box. So I went with an f1 box. But with new Zealand laws we can't just weld a new flange on the steering box housing. So I got a LHD steering box of my buddy Simon that had a welded flange to make it RHD. So I came up with a good idea to use it. I cut the flange off and got my buddy Dave to machine up a box of steel to use it as a clamp style system. 20170724_155440.jpg 20170724_155444.jpg 1514667128321936092767.jpg

Why not just use a different box? That clamp on a thin casting is pretty weak.

Lots of other cars had push pull boxes that might come in right hand drive. Willys, plymouths, hell even an early land cruiser.
