Hey Phil, Here's a pic of the inside of mine without the rear seat .

The cutouts in the rear window panel marked "A" shows where the rear seat upper "hooks" fit over the horizontal body bracing to hold the upper seat springs in place. Down on the vertical bracing marked "B" is where the upper seat spring bolts to the body.

Both of you are welcome. Let me know if you need measurements (in inches of coarse :)).

  12. Hey Dan.... Do the upper seat hooks actually hook over the tack strip/brace? Mine are too high by an inch, with the bottom holes lined up, and the cushion frame won't go to the rear far enough, hitting the curve of the tackstrip/brace.
These two small brackets are bolted to the tack strip, outboard of the vertical braces, and look like they might have held a wood strip (with the two factory holes) that the upper hooks would go over. Any suggestions? This seat is a real PITA! Thanks! Bill

    Hey Bill,
I didn't have any brackets like yours on my car. The seat brackets just hook over the horizontal body bracing/trim strip. Below are a couple pics of our car.

Below is a pic of someone else's stock tudor. You can tell how high the rear seat upper spring sits relative to the rear window in this shot.

    Hope this helps.

It has to be an issue with the seat back frame.
Adapt and overcome! After all, it's an old hot rod, not a stocker.

  16. 26907125_1779511178786504_1415379628914686470_n.jpg SOLVED MY PROBLEM! It's a tack strip alright, but it goes ABOVE the rear window, That explains the three reliefs cut in the upper wood frame. In case somebody else runs into this.
