I here that a lot about my truck. These trucks are made from Hudson commercial cars, they have a 128 inch wheel base. The normal cars have 121 inch, the front of the cars were designed for the straight eight engine, so they are long, and the bed is 93 inches long, the longest bed available at that time. pictures_hudson_pickup_1946_1.jpg

Waiting to get past the Holidays to go get some parts for this project. Got a picked over parts car found that has some parts I need, but not everything I'm looking for. Will go take a look and see if the parts I want are useable or not. Comes with a pair of rear fenders I can use also. 24331441_150823002343070_2040828740_n.jpg 24273357_150821155676588_552814556_n.jpg

Can't get enough Hudsons, can you?! I know where a couple of '50 Pacemakers are sitting but they're really rough, not sure if there's anything on those cars that I could check on that might be useful. I know where there is a '40 or '41 Hudson grille but no 46-47 grilles at the moment.

I am really anxious to work on the truck project its been awhile since I got to work on it. I'll just have to wait a little longer, at least I have the Hornet project to work on while I wait.

Do you have any pix of the REAR fenders? Reason i'm inquiring, the picture of the fenders you posted are of front fenders.
Pickup front fenders are different from '46-'47 cars---Cars had hidden running boards, pickup did not. I'm not knowleagable enough to how much work it is to modify fenders and make fit.

Rear fender for pickup are a two-piece fender and quite different from cars.

With the skills you showed building the Hornet fender modifying should be pretty easy!!

    GOOD LUCK!!

Rear fender can be seen on the 2 door in the background. I had better pictures saved on facebook, but they sometimes delete posts, so I lost them. The rear fenders have been cut out but that's ok I will be using them to convert my International fenders to look like Hudson. I actually need to patch or replace front fenders, cowl, doors, and a few other pieces on my truck. I will have to remove running board flares on those parts if I go with this car. I am also looking at another 47 that is more complete, that I might try to buy, again just need to look at it and determine which one to go with. Looked at that car many times when you had it advertised on cragslist earlier this year. I liked the price, but couldn't buy it just for parts, it looks to nice for that. Nice pickup too. I thought about using a 2 door and putting my truck parts on it to get a bigger cab. The doors are longer on a 2 door coupe, the trucks were made with 4 door front sections with the shorter doors.
