Save the gennie hood and get a Rootlieb to louver.

  5. Looks good as is but if your bound and determined to punch louvers don't quit with the hood,do the trunk lid also. HRP

Have to agree, sometimes we over do. It looks clean, I like that approach.

There once was a man from Vancouver*,
    a real shaker and mover,
When Feo wanted to punch up his bonnet,
the man posted "Dog gone it!,
That's not the right car for a louver!"

That car is perfect! Will it look better with louvers? Maybe, but it currently has a subdued aggression that is still elegant. I agree with doing a knock off hood and decklid if you go through with it. You could go back and forth that way and save a gennie hood and trunk in the process.
For the record I don’t often tell others to hold back from cutting up originals.

If "straight" (parallel to the centerline) coin toss.
If angled like the outside hood line, then a big NO.

I like it both ways, save the original hood and louver a repop, switch em out every now and then to keep it fresh.

I also say if straight, then maybe. But slanted ala' Rootlieb from the 80's = No Way.

Your car is a Hot Rod. Hell ya!! Louver it! The only reason to louver a repop hood and save the gennie is if you think you're gonna one day restore the car to original. Is that likely? If not, then all you're doing is wasting space storing a hood that you'll never use and will probably get damaged eventually moving it around.

    Nice car BTW
