Started the year with a 32 Vicky traded for a roadster (brown) ended up with a real Henry roadster fullfender.
Hmm...... started the year with reduced hours at work. Then, I broke my right hand and I'm right handed. Lost my mom. But through all that, I only thought about selling my project and getting on with "real life", once. It was my mom who told me to keep going. A month ago, I got what is probably the most expensive fiber glass T Bucket body. It took me 2 years of saving and I swear, I've spent many a night just staring at it. It cost more than my daily driver. No one gets that, other than you guys and a guy at work. I'm closing the year with an interior that's taking way too much thought, for something so simple, but I'm doing it myself. Oh, my goal is to have this thing done, by this time next year.
both roadsters have the same license plate except one is running upside down.... whats the deal on that?
Went through two motors in the Austin, got the body work done on my 61 ranch wagon and I'm in the process of building a small mail order garage. Got the support beams and roof trusses up today. Its like putting together a life size erector set.
We finally got the opportunity to turn our no longer needed Mother-in-law apartment into additional garage space.
The GA. 32 tag is registered to me. Georgia 32 tag didn't have holes drilled at the bottom so we just put it on so we could drive it around this weekend
2017 has very good to us so far. My wife and I were able to spend nearly a month in So. Fla this winter. Bought the '33 sedan (didn't plan on buying it until I saw it) in January and sold the cabrio in April. A couple of fun trips thrown in this summer as well. Living a dream!! Second pic is most current. Tim
Lost the engine in my semi in April, was down without income until late May when the finance company and I worked out a trade, my blown up truck for one of their repo's, so far, so good. I've heard it takes a month to recover missing one work days income, I missed at least 15 or 20, so we are just now out of that hole. Finally got the 302 in the Lincoln, still working on fabbing linkages, exhaust, lines, etc. Slow go not having but a few hours on Saturdays, and only when the weather is right temp wise, but it's slowly getting there. Hope to have it fired off before spring, then start sanding and what little bodywork it needs in preparation for new paint.
2017 is a year I'd rather forget, quite a few distractions and medical issues to contend with so everything just stalled. I made a few purchases and did some intermittent things however they are nothing to brag about. Hopefully in 2018 things will improve and allow me to get back to what I love doing. Another day closer to retirement and the bucket list!
From end of January to current. I could give reasons why progress has been so slow, but I'll just go with "Chryslers are hard to find parts for and expensive when you do."
I finally got my 41 running. Drove it to work last Friday and then a local car meet after work. Still needs a lot of work done to it, but it was so fun driving it.
2017 was an odd year for me. Really didn't work on the 32 at all. House and property took all my fun money from me but did work on some gas pumps and decided to work on this 1955 PennYan runabout this winter. I'll be making saw dust instead of sparks.
How do you keep the workshop so clean. (My engines always have oil in them) Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I started on my dream hotrod. It's a very small step forward but any time you move forward on a project is better than moving backwards Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
It's that clean because it's just been completed. I haven't started working on anything in there yet.
The year of water and wood. 4 basement floods (not much loss), 2 major storms that dropped trees all over my acreage, trees that had to be taken down, full waterproofing inside and out, new well in the mix too. I won't bother y'all with the little stuff that's falling like engine parts from that "Magic Muffler" Fiat picture. Cars? Holy shit, my peeps have definitely climbed higher up the scrotum pole with Vettes, an Auburn Speedster, Cord Sportsman, a Packard 1101 320 engine out for an awesome rebuild, the "Yellow Peril" Speed33 got done and he got 4th in a very tough class at the Detroit 'Rama, and I have more work in the shop than I can do. Me? I did a little woodgrain on my 39, got some new gauges and, hmm, there's gotta be something else but... My old car disease was only treated with this, and that's not all bad but I need to sell it: I at least moved my "day 2" GTO project I aquired from our brother "safari-wagon" almost 3 years ago. It washed up nice and got me fired up again: I'm digging in with all 20 nails to make the basement with the 39 Std. It's a tall order but dammit after this year I deserve it! Even Mrs Highlander thinks so. Hot damn, she's a keeper.
Thanks @HOTRODPRIMER. That was the goal. Stay tuned, it's gonna appear in the little pages soon. Hop Up has shot the car for a feature.
