McEwen-Adams "Shark car" at Lions. I think it later became the "Mangler" fuel car that Danny Ongais drove.

I didn't realize they ran handicap (bracket) drag races back in the day of flagman(starters) but it looks like this flagman ,with what appears to be two sets of arms, is getting it done with one set waving the first car off the line and it looks like the other set is coming up to get a second car rolling........ I could be just hallucinating though.....[IMG]

Some old strips had car length strips marked off like boxes so one car could "Spot" another a couple car lengths.

  10. The early seaton shakers are some of my favorites cars. The 66 pictured looks like a fun ride.

I've collected 35,000+ photos over the past 20 years and this one ranks in my all-time, top ten, drag racing photos.

Things must have really been getting tense. Looks like Willie actually may have both hands on the wheel.

Don't know when this shot was taken, but it must have been in the good old days. Hard to imagine anyone when even drag a nitro car out of the barn for 250 to win now

    Yea, as noted above -
Steve Bovan's Chevy II was ALWAYS a huge hit at Irwindale Raceway. One of my favorites.
