Yeah it's a pretty good body. Not as solid as my 57 was but definitely worth building.

We've been at a stand still on the car, been insulating the garage and waiting on housing ends and the front axle from Ron Pope. Should all be in sometime this week.

I would have the very same ideas !! They're heavy enough, have big brakes and plenty of towing power. Not to mention comfy.
    Great score !

Really nice job, it should be fast as light as your making it.

^^^^ Always had a thing for Wagons. Interesting way of mocking up an engine using an old camshaft. I see a glass nose on the 55, and another on a 57 in the background. Plus, I see an early 50's Chevrolet Coupe; lots of hot rod projects there. Got any other photos of your front stub; most guys use box tubing?

Thanks for your comments. I gutted the cross member and installed 2x4 tubing inside to keep the original frame look.
I posted the pictures as a way of encouragement to Zak Hall's dad.
I didn't think about me getting comments.
I apologize to Zak Hall and his dad.

Nice build. I tried to keep the same back half of frame (style)as my frame was shot. Used 2x4 Went 9” ford and coil overs. 4 linked with panhard. Had old wheels to fit it as I wanted to keep the rear quarters and wheel well. Found a set of 2017 mustang 17” locally and still have plenty of room for a bigger tire. 8051CE2D-CB2B-42BB-A9A2-CED34358C2BF.jpeg DB07FF52-AB60-4FAD-ACB1-EAF5C5C02278.jpeg F4F83BBD-A762-4313-ABD8-44BDA9F655C9.jpeg 55890977-EE67-4523-BD24-DFB5C4FB1CD0.jpeg EBEE7DB6-9E6A-470D-9BB4-5443ED171874.jpeg D9B96DB1-3C23-40ED-A892-C95C505016E9.jpeg 39CDC3BD-5CA7-4EF9-B216-3650A2E0FF3C.jpeg

Got the axle for dads car in, got the spindles off the old axle and installed along with new kingpins and bushings. And got it all mocked up. Hopefully get it tacked up tomorrow. Housing ends came in too, would like to have this thing as a roller by January first!

Won’t be long and it’ll be a roller. Also been doing maintenance to the Cadillac and getting it ready to tow.

11.5 at the rear and 12.5 at the front. Almost the minimum requirement

You can’t run coil overs in Southeast Gassers.

Old round fart. I did not say coil-overs, I said coils. You are allowed to run coil springs as long as they are 4 inch in diameter and not attached to the shocks. My Southeast gasser project is getting coils and shocks.

When you are mocking it up for ride height. With no motor and transmission, does it get you pretty close using just the main leafs in the front?

Yes it gets pretty close. And if you still need to compress it a little you can use ratchet straps.
