I didn't like the top cap having a sharp bend and it was to wide. The top picture shows how I laid out the curve using the outer edge. I made dies to bend the edge, and was able to get the left side welded in.

Welded the rear cap up today. I have some grinding and planishing to do now! 20171118_185312.jpg 20171118_185350.jpg
I like it better now after slimming it down.

Well I think I'm done hammering on the body for a while. I think it's fender time. I picked up some decent 32 running boards and front fender braces. I have 32 front fenders that are very repairable but nothing for the rear. I shouldn't say nothing because I do have a pair of glass 32 coupe fenders to use as a pattern.

The major work on the body is done and it feels great!!

The doors still need some work but I really want to see it with fenders.

I have pulmax dies that make the 32 fender edge. 20171125_151116.jpg
I got a good start welding the right side.

I haven't updated for a while. I got both tails made and the left side is welded on. The reverse is a little tricky, stretch sides and shrink the corners.
    20171205_114411.jpg
Then I turned the edge with the pullmax as far as I could and did the rest with hand tools. It required some torch shrinking in the corners.

With the shape in the panel it was hard to use the pulmax to finish the bead so I made this fixture and added the bead with a chisel.

This is how the left side looked. I have some fine tuning to do on the shape and welds to finish yet, but it was a great feeling having one fender together.

I've never been much of a fan of coupster's going by what I have seen built in the past, but this one has changed my mind totally.
There is another in Australia that debuted in Japan earlier this year running a flathead V12 which is right up there also but that is a 28/29 version.
I feel the 30/31 has the slightly better lines and works real well with the 32 frame.
Your skills are a credit to you and keep posting please.

They are 32 front fenders. I have some glass 32 rear fenders I'm using as a pattern. It might have been easier to use model a coupe fenders on the rear. I would have been rebuilding where the front mounts to the frame and runnin board. Plus the bead would have to be replaced to match the 32 fronts. I'l have 3 weeks (about 60 hours) in the rear fenders by the time they are done.

@Dyce your a very talented man...interesting journey your taking us on here...you may have said but are you adding aprons between front to rear similar to a A or using the frame and fitting to suit? Looking back at it it looks pretty cool as you have it...I think I just answered my question with my eyes...:D Thanks, great job...

Well for the most part I'm done planishing the left fender and ran over it with a sander. I used my planishing hammer and set my "portable" ewheel up to do this. It does a good job ironing things out wheeling it sideways. It wasn't fitting in the big wheel.

The tail could have been a little longer but I'm happy.
