Good on you for saving that. Please, please, please, whoever takes this home, post a link to the build here so we can follow it.

1930 model A coupster on a 32 rails would look awesome.
I think there is already a thread running with that exact project.
I was surprised how nice it looked...

The car recovery with the hippo boat was the funniest story I ever read! I'm still laughing!

Congrats on getting the car out of the ground! Looks like you've got a little bit of work ahead of you. A build thread...please.

  13. Even if you don't build it, someone with the bottom parts rusted out on their coupe or roadster can use your parts to make a nice car. Your lower portions are good shape for somebody to use.

Here's a few examples of things I've dug out and brought home. Way down in SE NM I found a partially crushed 32ish Ford cab that had been buried in the sand. I dug it out and hauled it home. I ended up selling it a swap meet for $150. Another time I dug a 33/34ish International cab outta the weeds out on the eastern plains of NM. There were some packrats that weren't happy when I lifted it onto the trailer. The bottom was dang near rusted through and I ended up selling if for $300.

    I love finding treasures

  15. This is a fun thread. Like digging for dinosaur bones. It's fun to find this stuff. I also liked the hippo thread too! It was soo funny. Here's a picture of one I dug out of a bank years ago. Ron... 20171208_101811.jpg

Is it just me or did it look a whole lot better when it was upside down and half buried?

If all goes as planned I will be coordinating a little Holiday trip to Denver and a pick up of this diamond in the rough. It has many useable parts still. Door bottoms, panel bottoms and beads may be salvageable.

This look of the formerly buried surface reminds me of that Plymouth time capsule they unearthed a few years ago...
You guys certainly got your exercise for the month out of this unearthing thats for sure. I guess the journey continues as it looks very likely there is going to be some form of resurrection...thanks for the entertaining moments.

I’m not going there ONLY for the A. My wife wanted us to go to Denver to hang out with old friends over the break. This thread popped up and instead of flying, we will now drive and I will get some useful pieces and also save some coin by driving.
Win for me (parts) Win for the wife (see friends) and Win for Dartracer (makes a few bucks and gets a new home) the way I see it.

While you are there in Denver and should you feel that you may need a few extra parts to help this project along, go in and see Steve at Bert's Model A Center in Denver (call or Google first as he is not open all days), as not only does he sell new items, he has a junkyard behind his store that you could pick thru. A lot of the items are even in racks but there is other unassembled stuff there as well.
Then on the way home if you are running on the I70 stop by Easy Jacks in Grand Junction KS.
He also has a junkyard of mixed and varied early Ford stuff.

Good to know. I’ll be spending a few days at the Star Bar just for beer. That’s the friends we are visiting their bar.

I'd guess this will be used as parts, and not built.

Thanks for the ride along, it's cool to watch these threads.
