Are the brake and clutch pedals in a 1938 Ford cast or forged? Can they be welded (to add tabs, changing them from pull to push as an example)? Thanks in advance (again) for all of your knowledge and wisdom.
They are forged as they can be heated and bent. Can't do that to cast iron. Also, do a spark test. Yes, you can weld the pedals. TIG is best.. http://www.millerwelds.com/resources/communities/mboard/forum/welding-discussions/28995-how-to-identify-between-cast-steel-and-forged-steel-then-the-best-way-to-weld-it
You didn't say but I assume you are going to do a hydraulic brake conversion. Check out Richard Lacy at [email protected] (mail), earlyv8garage.net (web site), (626) 338-2282 for the kits he has available to convert to hydraulic brakes. Charlie Stephens
