Nice job on the homemade pullmax, I didn't see what you were using for an on/off switch, might look at a foot switch ,very nice for when you need two hands for the stock.

Nothing fancy but very useful. Bolt with two flathead nuts welded together. Used to install head studs.

Finally finished my English wheel. Using the Ebay off shore wheel and anvils until I can get the Hosier Profiles, hopefully in January. Works extremely well. Panels are absolutely track free and there is less than .002 deflection with 500lbs. applied to the throat. It weighs in at a tad over 900lbs. and has ports to fill the frame with sand when I build a power hammer off the right side. The gibs are bronze lined and can be set to zero tolerance. I've been using friends wheels for the last five years or so since I sold my last one to Homemadehardtop57. Nice to be able to just step over and shape what I need.

Very nice EWheel!! I can see your casters bending the plate they’re welded to upwards over time but super nice build. Great job!

Saw the thread about HF engine levelers and I though I would show one I build about ten years ago. They locked the other thread down so I'm putting it here. The patina was gotten by laying it in the corner of the garage after it got wet I think.

had to drill out exhaust studs on an aluminum head. tried welding nuts to what was left of the stud. was melting the flange surface. hokey drill jig did the trick.

Oh please... I posted a couple broken bolts with a hole drilled through them... surely your stuff can't be any more basic than that? Share your ideas, that's what sparks the ingenuity that creates even better ideas. Sometimes the simplest of simple tools can be very useful and time saving. I built this slapper last Friday nite on a whim... by Monday morning I had a job sitting in the shop that needed it. At first I didn't like it, too stiff because it was made from a main leaf, but I did like the extra weight and shape of the spring eye (something the purchased versions don't have). Rusty chunk of leaf spring and a worn out shovel handle... not exactly rocket science...

4 "too short" copper rivets countersunk into the handle that was sliced in the center make it work. Note I retained the rusty crap look....errrr..... "proper patina" for working on vintage iron... That eye is great for working the back of vintage fenders or f'd up trailer fenders that got too close to a front end loader...I call it the super slapper. When I ran into Gene Winfield at World of Wheels, he was raving about a shiny version from Eastwood.

I have not looked through all of this thread, but most of it. If I am duplicating I apologize in advance.

Here is something I built in the past but I modified last week. It is an attachment for my pressure washer that enables the operator to stand beside the vehicle and wash the underside. It solves two problems for me, having a clean vehicle to work on, and standing instead of bending over or laying down. It originally had a skid plate but last week I added the wheels. This is an important feature as it keeps the device from turning sideways from the intended direction. Trying to hold on to a pressure washer wand that is turned at 90 degrees is like something from a 3 Stooges film.

Great idea WZJUNK! I think that would be a great idea for those Bonneville guys to use when they get their Hot Rod home for the Salt flats.

We made something like that at the fire station to clean under the trucks in the winter. Gets the salt and mud off without crawling underneath. Keeps the pump clean for the mechanics.

Hey neat, I have that same craftsman vice.

Usually most of my home made tools have been things to work on Corvairs. Somewhere around here is dads bent up wrench that's just perfect for adjusting the alternator and whatnot on a Corvair engine.
