With your plans as a flathead tail dragger I say build it. If you sell some boring unimaginative dork might buy it and fit a 350/350 combo and mustang front. Save it from sombody like that.

cant believe how high that rear end was after I rebuilt the spring...lol really settled.

That was the first drive in 21 years

 

If I had to choose one or the other it would be an easy choice for me but I am a custom guy.

Nice Find! Here is some inspiration for you. (This is a shot from the early '50's. the car belonged to the father of a friend of mine.)

 

I don't know if I'd sell the 32, but I'll bet you have other stuff you could peddle. I wouldn't do a chop or a Carson top, but it's yours and it's nice.

 

They’re great cars, topless fun and rather quiet with the top and windows up in cooler weather.

I usually respond jokingly, when someone wants opinions on how to do their car, BUT.... I can see that car, stock appearing on the outside and a reliable V8 under the hood. That body style would be a treat to see on the street UNMOLESTED.

We got back late Monday evening and it was rainy, so I was going to unload it Tuesday, had to work all day on a project that had a deadline so we unloaded it today and I couldn’t resist poking around on it and adding some headlights and fog lights like @Chris Swenson does! Popped the caps and trim rings on it too! They were stashed inside!




Got down under it and found they had replaced the old mechanical brakes with 39 juice brakes and replaced the rear axle with the 39 rear too!! What an added bonus!!

 

Great score! I personally like the 36 Cabriolet better than a 32 5W that you also have. Cabriolet is nice with the roll up windows vs a roadster. Very nice having such clean and straight sheetmetal to start with. Bonus for the extra hood, grille and juice brakes!

My vote is for either Westergard style custom or a lowered hot rod. Great results either way.

 

Looks to me like you're done. Just add engine.

 

That looks like the 39 front axle and wishbone too.

 

To me it looks pretty solid, well worth building. Nice score. I like the mid 30's Fords. A few years and dollars DIY or drop off at a builder, maybe 1 year and Many Dollar's and you'll be cruisin.

 

That's possible... the rear axle is definitely not a 36 axle with 39 juice brakes, they mustve just pulled those old 36 axles out and replaced them completely.

 

The front perch from the axle to the spring has a simple downward curve, meaning 37-40. A 35-36 has a curly curve in both directions. The axle also looks too short between the perch and kingpin to be a regular 33-36 axle.
