    Hi ... need your help
I have attached 3 photos of what appears to be a Ford Model A transmission coupled to a cast and machined coupler, meant to fit the back of a 4-cylinder Offy. Can anyone out there provide enlightenment on or verification of this unit as an Offenhauser product? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Print-of-270-Offy-640x431.jpg Don't know if this will help you but looks a bit like this. Looks like what you might've seen in an old Indy roadster.

That is what you have along with a Model A - AR clutch. I have also seen a Ford Model A aluminum case that Offenhauser made in Schroder's warehouse.

  6. Yes, the Big Cars (Up Rights) and the Indy Roadster used this set up so they could pit. Could not use in out boxs like Spintcars or Midgets.

As was earlier said by BJ, "this is an amazing place." Thanks to you all! Other than "Racing Junk" anyone know of place whereat such stuff is bought, sold and traded? Directions and suggestions will be cheerfully received.

Josh Shaw is on this board, or was.He restores early sprint cars and may be able to help you. He is very well connected .Some on on this board can put you in touch with J S. Also Bill Aiken in Nashville would be a good contact . He has restored a couple of older indy cars.I have no contact info for him.
