I’m using a newer 49-53 block, but I want to use a set of the pre 49 heads with the center water port. I want to order a set of studs, but there are two different sets for pre 49 and 49-53. I’m not sure which set to order. Thanks

Order the studs for the heads that you will be using. Most aftermarket aluminum heads use longer studs.

Yep, the length is the only difference. And most aftermarket heads have a consistent length to all the studs (not shorter on the bottom rows), so ask the vendor which set has the correct length for you.
