will a '32 cross member fit a '34 frame? I'm missing the cross member in my '34, can find lots for a '32, looks like they would fit my boxed frame, but no one gives measurements in their ads

the '33-'34 grill shells are wider than the '32s, but they both fit against the inner edge of the frame horns about the same so the frame horns must be wider by the difference in the grills...
check westcotts auto restyling for dimentions...

The wescot dimensions don't help much. They don't use the same dimension references.
Now if somebody had a 32 and a 34 they could measure from outside to outside at the spring centre that would be awesome.

Do you mean “32” generically speaking? As in a 32 speedway, SoCal, etc, etc, 1” drop “model A” style? I think yes with you can work it out with boxed rails. If you mean stock 32, ehhhhhh, maybe not so much. Might be fun to watch.

I've done a couple 33/34 customer chassis with a 32 front cross member at the customers request. You have to fab some radiator mts in front of the cross member if you want to mount the radiator in the stock spot. The deuce cross member lowers the front more than the stock style repro 33/34. Both these chassis were for very modified cars.

IMG_1613.JPG Outside to outside on my stock 34 frame is 27 1/4". Wescotts has the 32 frame at 25 3/4" at the same point, right at the centreline of the axle.
Maybe the best way would be to use an A crossmember ment for an inboxed frame?

  7. Front, rear or center crossmember?

Well it's marked 34 I'm not positive that's what it really is.

Classic Street Rod Manufacturing in Ontario Ca might have something new you can use. They build model A, ‘32, and ‘33/34 frames exclusively.

Your 34 ford frame looks to be spread. Mine is tight and original and is an inch narrower.
And the crossmember certainly looks 34 and is only 27" wide.
