Getting a Borgwarner Powershift Trans out of an Avanti for my Lark. Trying to find a floor shifter kit for it. Was on American Shifter Co website and all I saw was Chrysler, Ford and GM kits. Read somewhere that it is basically an FMX trans. Would it be possible to use one of those shift kits on the Powershift?

Thanks in advance for any info.

No personal experience with American Shifter, but isn't it part of the Hoffman group of companies?

I have no idea who the Hoffman Group is

  6. I would stay away from that group..................search for older threads and you will find a bunch of negative comments fwiw

  7. Hoffman Group = products to avoid.
May have to do some fab with any current shifter.
Maybe an old B&M cable shifter, they were pretty adaptable.
If you look to new: check out Gennie or Lokar if you find they are adaptable to your trans. Little extra money up front; goes a long way towards longevity on the back side.

  8. Go to the Stude forum....and go to the classifies....Stude made some great factory floor shifts...

If you mean the Studebaker Drivers Forum, they do not have a classifieds section. Something that has been brought up many times over there. The club apparently doesn't want to do it.

Looking at both Gennie and Lokar now. Realizing that we will have to fab something up no matter what at this point. Thanks for the tip on Gennie. Hadn't looked at them yet.
