Not in a Barn, but in a guys celler with wall bricked in behind it, not discovered until the house was sold. Southern Ontario a few years ago.

Anybody recall that thread where a 32 was up in the loft and they made ramps up to it to get it out? Quite the rescue it was...

  5. P1020502.JPG P1020501.JPG Not so much a barn find as a shed find.
Here she is shortly after we towed it out.
It didn't even dawn on me to take pictures of its resting place (25+ yrs) until much later.
I was just in a hurry to get it home.
Didn't want my brother to change his mind.

I'm not sure how the original owners/modifiers would react to it being called a hot rod. It's a 1916 Hudson Super Six 7 passenger touring that my neighbor's family bought new and cut down into a truck in the thirties. My neighbor froze the radiator and swapped in the dodge radiator and grille shell. Call it a hot rod, gow job, cut-down, jalopy, jitney, I'm just glad to call it mine.

Here's my thread about it, I need to update it a little though.

Ya know Roddin it really is amazing...and I've been guilty of it too and it's just takin a couple of pics as you found it, the mechanical money shot so to speak...Too me that is when the eyes do the funny dance when you first lay eyes on it, the time capsule. No dispute these came out of sheds/barns but so many are missing that single important detail...:(...but hey maybe most have them just overlook it as not important.

Yeh, I know what you are saying but the amazing thing to me is how many are still out there after all these years & dreams have passed them by.

This one was in a clapped out hotel in Missouri, was in the '93 Mississippi River flood. Cleaned up pretty well, still wears the original paint. 0221.jpg P1000982 (2).JPG

Thanks for reposting this thread Mike...Helluva Story that is...Bringing
up old threads like this are Hamb Barn finds about Barn Finds...

You still have it and it looks fantastic...
Another big plus is its condition as your state is
not a friendly one to metal.

I guess throwing it up in the loft gave him freedom to use the bay downstairs for other things.

Actually, the downstairs was full of cars too, just not as cool. He didn’t believe in 401k type retirement saving, he preferred old cars.

    Haha

I posted a bunch of pics when I bought my 39 five years ago. Not a barn, but had been in this garage since 61.

My 34 Chevy master had been in a barn from the late 1950's until about 2004. The last photo is what it looks like today.
