Whoops. I just re-read your post Tom. No that, full fendered channeled hot rod is a roadster. I think it was called Tweedy Pie, back in the day. There is a thread running in the HAMB that tells you all about it.

Thankyou Gary. I was pretty pleased with both of those.
Here's one I just did, that I know Tom will like.

Geoff, This cover reminds me of when the likes of Pete & Jakes, Jim Ewing and P'Wood were the kings of hot rodding, when we looked forward to Street Rodder magazine with Thom Taylor's artwork in P&J adverts that told a story of hot rodding in and around Temple City, when hot rods were driven hard, and there were no traditional hot rod police telling you that your car had "incorrect" parts on it. Thanks for the look back to a simpler time in our sport.

Thanks for that Mark. I agree whole heartedly with what you said.
It is obvious that I enjoy doing these covers, by the sheer amount of them I have done.
I could write so much about what I am getting out of creating these and the whole significance this' hot rod thing' has had on my life. But I won't bore you all to tears.
So I will just continue to produce and show covers, that hark back to simpler times in hot rodding and in life in general .Times when you could check out the hot rod magazines on the news stand and each would stand out from each other.

I found the image of this coupe earlier and have lowered and chopped this coupe. It is in my eyes almost perfect.
I present it on this cover, but may alter it again later when I have more time.

Not much reaction to that last one, so I guess there won't be any to this one.

Thanks for the reply Gary. Yes it is a neat 3W. As we have said before Tony, had a fair bit to do with it when Steve Costa first built it.
I have done a few things to it to make it little more appealing in my eyes.

Btw I will add a peaked original grille to the roadster I think this will be the finished look and I believe will work better with new headlight combo.? This project is slowly evolving image.jpeg

Thankyou Tom. No that sedan is not channeled.
As to the headlights, they work for me ( that coming from a fan of big stock headlights). But because of the style which you are building your roadster I, think your chosen lights are so right. If your roadster didn't sit as it does ( so right and low ), and sat high as back in the day, one would not use a dropped headlight bar. But in your case the dropped headlight bar compliments perfectly the stance of your roadster.
The other week Tony and I were discussing on the phone style and stance in relation to the 'back in the day' thing. The hot rods back in the day that had that so right low stance are the one's that I really like seeing. To me they were cutting edge for 'that era'. But they were few and far between. Nowadays with that view from the past and experience we are seeing so many more hot rods that have that lower stance.
With some of the images from back in the day that I use on some of my covers, I will chop and lower the hot rod in the image I am using. The irony of this is, that in most cases ( in my eyes ) that that hot rod doesn't look like 'the common' hot rod that it was.
I hope that all makes sense, I find it so much easier to actually discuss this with some one, rather than write it down.
    I'll shut up now.
