A thought occurred to me while looking at this picture. Wouldn't it be cool if we could freeze frame that moment in time, bring it forward to the future (today) and give each one of the members one of the cars.. . . I mean just like today, those cars were pretty much taken for granted by their owners, who never would have thought that 60+ years later all those would collectible and desired.

    Hey RM,
With such an unusual name, WYNKOOP BROS... it could not be the same WYNKOOP BROS. from Long Beach, CA, could it? I grew up with a couple of brothers with the last name of WYNKOOP. We lost track of them after high school. But the spelling was exactly the same. Any other information on this photo, WYNKOOP BROS. STORE would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jnaki

I know. A lot of us must have thought the cars of our youth would be around forever. If I could only go back for a little while!

  14. I went to school with Tucker Popham, the grandson of the inventor of the Sno Cat,,, hence the name "Tucker". , in Medford, Ore, we graduated in 1964. He was a big red headed loveable sorta guy !

  16. All I could find was this caption - which only gives the location and date of photo - not much to go on. The building was down by the Willamette river, and google didn't help much, there must be a lot of Wynkoops in Denver, CO... "1211 SW 1st circa 1939 From Portland Art Museum. Minor White photo"

    Hey RM,
THANKS... for the information. It was just that that WYNKOOP name was so familiar and unusual. We spent the whole day walking down that Portland Waterfront on our last visit there. We were so close to this old building and did not even know it. It took us several days to get the idea of where everything was according to the SW, NW, SE, NE directions on addresses.

    Jnaki
It is a cool place to visit and enjoy for a week or so. We will be back soon...
