Gary there is one more pic that accompanied this one and I'll post it when I find it...It certainly typifies doing things with little. It has hotrodding clearly being undertaken making it quite relevant. One could say simpler times but there were a few wars in those times and things may have been...well not so rosy.

I however do agree it is a very interesting pic and glad it struck a note for you...​

 

My MG when built. None of the guy's in the photo's are with us today. The last Willie the Welder died this year in April. RIP my friend's

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Since these first 4 photos are from Thanksgiving Day 55 YEARS AGO, I thought I would toss them in here. The car was purchased for $25, towed home and "construction" began right away that day. Sadly we didn't have cameras in those days so no build pics exit except for these taken by a neighbor that day.


First the engine had to come out. Fred Bear is the helper, me bending over.

Then the torch came out, the firewall was gone, and by the end of the day the body was off the frame.
Gene Altizer has the torch, me bending over again. We missed Thanksgiving dinner!!!

Six Months Later: first time out for the almost finished product.

Andy Southard's 58. Had about 200 miles on it in those pic's. Legendary striper and photographer. Beautiful car when done.
