Here's a new find. A 3.5" Barclay slush cast 1929 Auburn Cabin Speedster. I like that you can see the pitman arm and the teardrop grill in the side of the hood, just like the real thing. This little toy outlived the real Cabin Speedster. The original car was destroyed in the fire which destroyed over 300 cars at the 1929 Los Angeles Auto Show. A recreation of that car resides at the museum in Auburn, Indiana.
COOL AUBURN, Barnfind. Do you know what this is? I thought it was neat so I got it. Thanks Ron... Sent from my SM-G920P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Funny. I worked on the Futura. Larry Wood worked on the Batmobile. Here are a couple more castings. '47.5 AD truck , '33 Ford .. wrong wheels on it. '33 Plymouth, hotrod in disguise, '64 Fairlane wagon of course. The 33 is going to be in the Dirty Mudders 5 pack, the Chevy with be a Walmart in the Chevy 100th series, the other two will be in the mainline. They are all 2018 Matchbox cars.
They're great ( ABE LUGO ) I like the 33 Plymouth. I'll make a sedan delivery out of it. To match my real Rod. Thank's and a couple more Sent from my SM-G920P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Hey Ron, You are lucky to have that Batmobile Hot Wheels car. The closest thing for us was watching the TV show and in the comic books. No little cars for us. But, in June of 2017 , I was able to get up close and personal with one of the versions of the Batmobile at the Lions Dragstrip grand opening event. I was there for several, early, set up days as my total Lions History films were going to be played on a monitor somewhere in the museum. There was this artist that created his version of the Bat Cave on the huge wall behind the Batmobile. He kept at it for weeks until it was finished, a true artist. THE BAT CAVE PAINTING ON THE REAR WALL: They actually asked me how to display my movies...I suggested a monitor with a continuous DVD loop. I also suggested several smaller monitors at each of the race cars displayed to show them in action, holding their interests. We all know how it is at a museum with short term memory displays... "Ok, we looked...let's move on..." Junji The Lions Museum management went one further and bought a huge 80 " TV monitor and mounted it on a wall for all to see my Lions films throughout the event. I was honored and impressed. Keep up the display of the million models from your workshop/play room...we like all of those old models. They represent our car history. The Batmobile: Just classic... large monitor on the back wall
JNAKI, Thank you for sharing all the memories. Your living the dream. I know it's Wednesday morning. But I can't post without a photo. Lol Ron This is the Cadzilla. A good friend Crag Naff did all the metal work on it for Boyd. He then moved back here. He's very talented . Thank's everyone for all your post too ! Ron... I did a run of six custom painted Hot Wheels S-10s for the team principals of my brother n law's Pro Stock Truck team, - way, way back when, just before the class was eliminated. The lettering was custom made by the same folks who did the graphics for team. Gary
I would say that is also modeled after the Cabin Speedster. Though, toy companies were so infamous for copying each other, they may have made that little slush car as a copy of the Barclay version. The former toymaker may have never seen the actual Auburn. They didn't need to if they could just copy another toy. This is all speculation on my part. Is yours about 2" long? At first I thought it could be like this open-wheel racer, which I believe to be a Charles A. Wood Novelty production, but the wheel design is different.
Not Tuesday? Well, you know what that means... here are a '49 and '51 Merc with USB flash drives embedded in them.
You know XLL__ these cars your building are really neat .. and you keep coming up with different one's all the time.... that's cool...but every time you do I , you know I'm putting myself out there showing my stupid side a bit, I think that's really cool..but what the hell is a flash drive and what do you use it for... I figured it must be something to do with a computer because of USB and not for some high tech Hot Wheels Track, I looked didn't see any thing like that....OK there it is .... I was going to ask my niece but I figured she would just laugh at me so I will let you guys have the fun instead.. Thanks... I think.. Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks for asking. A flash drive is just a data storage device... like your computer's hard drive, or the memory storage on your phone. The USB connection is pretty universal, so you can carry files between computers-- pictures, music files, Word documents, whatever. Many modern car stereos have a USB interface so you can collect music on your computer and play on your car stereo. You can tak pictures of the kids (or the last car show) to yoyr buddy's house and view/share pics on his computer. When you run out of storage on your phone, you can use a small adapter cable to plug in a flash drive for additional storage, or to easily move files off the phone to free up space, etc. There are lots more uses, but that's a basic overview.
Thanks XXL____ now I know.. I don't have a home computer...have never operated one I just have my cell phone and a tablet I kick myself for not getting into it earlier in life..being stubborn about change.. I guess anyways thanks for explaining that and keep your cars coming there cool... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Along similar lines, here is a cab and trailer with an embedded USB hub. The hubmcan be used for charging phones, plugging multiple USB drives into a single computer, and any of tye other zillions of USB devices out there (hard drives, keyboards, mice, heck... even silly stuff like noght lights and mini fdesk fans).
The wife and I went antiqueing last week and saw this. My dad has the Texaco tanker, a dump truck, blue pickup, and an orange road crew pickup. I was thinking about getting this for his sixtieth birthday, but at $250 I'll see if Mom will buy it
Thats cool it's always fun building things out of something that was not intended for the purpose that it now has .. I have built some pretty odd and cool things through the years even some that I won't mention on here....all in fun......neat stuff.. Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Good Tues. morn. To ya all. Thanks for all the likes. My grandson digs em, so I picked one up for him for Christmas.
I've always been fond of 49-51 Oldsmobiles probably since my 2nd car was a 50 Rocket 88. Saw this bank on eBay and just had to have it. LOL
I found this neat tear drop trailer in the Summit catalog recently. 1/24 scale very nice replica for the money. It comes with a sea kayak and a bicycle mounted on a rack on top. the first one came with a broken rack so asked for another one to be shipped . Same problem with the second one. I like it best without the rack anyway.
I'll have to ask Santa for one of those teardrop trailers. Here's a few diecast ornaments, that's on our Christmas tree. Have a blessed and Merry Christmas. Ron... Sent from my SM-G920P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Here's a fixer upper on the cheap: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tonka-1956...788358?hash=item2cc660b806:g:MiUAAOSwr7tZidel Those Tonka pumpers are nice. They are heavy. There's a lot of steel in them. '57 is my favorite year with the hood scoop and the vertical A-pillars like a '55-'56 F-series. '56 Tonka had sloped A pillars (like a '53-'55 Ford). '55 Tonka had a smaller grill and metal headlights like this version that has been augmented with different wheels from another 1950s toy maker.
What kind of car does this look like? Who had hood louvers on the side like that? Here's a little older version. These cars are about 15' long.
That's a good one wojojo I got one of them myself a few years back....this is it now... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
