  4. How amazing is that! So, is that a small port intake then? I know that the Edelbrock Ol396 came both ways, small port for the 303 and larger for the 324. I port matched my OL396 to the #10 '56 heads as it was off quite a bit but had enough stock to allow the mod.

Yes the Weiand is a small port intake. I wouldn't want to modify such a rare old part. I have made a great effort to avoid any significant modifications to this '40 coupe so that it can be restored to original by some
car lover after I'm gone. After all, this is my 4th '40 Ford coupe. I think I've had my share!

324 Olds becomes 346+ with '71 4" pistons. Short block complete less cam & chain.

I decided to take the short block apart and re-do it. The gasket set that I have did not provide the original
rope type rear main bearing seal but instead provided some sort of synthetic type seal. This was always a
leak source (in the old days) unless you got it just right. I recently found a modern type 2 piece neoprene
seal available from "Bestgasket" #3772. So I decided to try it. Anybody else try one of these?

  11. I got a tried and true piece from Tony that he has made. No leaks. Worth the $$$ for sure.
