I stopped by the booth to collect another truck bed of parts today and got a picture of the firewall un masked.

I actually got down on the floor to see the entire tan undercar, it is very cool.
And a picture of the 32 tank that I modified to fit my roadster.

I dread thinking about how many hours I have into that tank. I had to make the brackets to adapt the tank...then I formed the bottom reveal so it was seamless all the way across...then I cut the tank for the quick change... then I had to move the sending unit over and weld the old hole up...then I had to move the filler neck...and no one will probably ever notice.

A deuce fuel tank on a 34 is like getting chocolate in your peanut butter.
    I like it!

Thanks buddy. You will laugh but I started with a 34 tank, notched it around the QC and then didn't like it so it is still in the box in my garage. Future sale item. If I had all the money back I wasted buying stuff for the car then changing my mind and going another direction, I could buy a lot more stuff for the car.

I'm hip to that, almost like there's a rule somewhere saying that's how it's supposed to be!

Amen. I sold the moon tank, the clam shell scoops, the porter mufflers, the flip top gas cap...it's like a garage sale that re-stocks the inventory!

Two years ago a buddy gave me two '63 Rivieras that were sinking into his back yard. I sold the worst one as a parts car, kept the title and serial plate, and spent the dough on an Air-Ride system for the other one, along with a truckload of parts. So it was FREE! Well, it was until I bought an LS for it, the in dash A/C heat and leather interior.

headed home to wait for the roll back. Body coming home, frame going to paint. This morning I dropped off my backing plates, ladder bars, pan hard rod and bracket for the QC, and the semi elliptical leafs at the chrome shop.

Exactly what the body guy said at the paint shop so he stuck a camera in the tank to take a look around then sealed the interior with POR-15 gas tank sealant as a precaution so it doesn't leak and ruin his paint job. I already had the tank pressurized and tested for leaks but this is good insurance.

  10. That's how you know you did a good job,
It fits and functions flawlessly in someplace it doesn't belong and nobody notices it's been modified. Perfection

I strive for this in everything I do on this car. Hide your technology, disguise your creativity, over engineer it but make it look easy, never let them see you sweat.

This pic from the paint shop just now, car is loaded and on her way to me. I'm glad I am not watching this in person. Time for a cocktail to ease my troubled mind. Be here in 15 minutes.

You can see her tan undies in this picture though. If it falls off the roll back you are gonna see mine.

In my life I have had a few nervous waits, the birth of my two lovely children for example but this delivery had me sweating bullets. Feels like I just gave birth. Time for a cigar and a bourbon.

...Adorned by the master's lovely toys, she rests at last beneath florescent stars.

    Seriously, someone buy that Nova!
And the frame is making a return trip to the shop for it's share of the maroon juice.

Happy thanksgiving indeed. May yours be as joyful.

A new week and the frame is in the shop getting some primer. Here are the updated photos. After a quick block sanding we should have some maroon paint on her. Looking forward to putting this car back together.

Late night at the paint shop. Hopefully some color shots tomorrow. Meanwhile I've been hard at work welding some tabs on the QC axles to mount the distribution block and line brackets so I can get some paint on it. Got close tonight but ran out of time.

Like Ritchie Valens sang, "I was framed..."

Back to the scene of the crime. The paint shop put a wicked nice coat of paint on the frame. And I put my HAMB approved OT filter over my Camaro so it wouldn't offend anyone.
    upload_2017-12-1_12-38-1.png
Now comes the fun part, putting it all back together again and hoping I remember how I built it and where all the parts are.
And I got my backing plates from the chrome shop, I love maroon and chrome!

Note to self, shut the bathroom door when taking pictures in the garage.

Your Roadster is looking great! So where am i going to have to go to see this car in person when it is finished? Do you frequent any particular Washington runs or shows?
