went to chassis-engineering inc's website they are calling it quits. Anyone know if someone else will be building there parts?
I hope so. Chassis Engineering was one of the few that offered either a weld in or bolt in option which was nice for lots of ones without extensive tools/equipment. Quality products also.
I'm surprised that it was not on sold to a new operator, rather than just closing the doors as appears to be the case.
Owner passed in Oct, daughter took it over, was probably overwhelmed, and just decided to close up shop. She most likely was't dedicated to it like her father was. Funny though, they were advertising for a welder in Oct. also; that position did't last long, if it even got filled. It's really too bad, it's a niche market. This thread is a good example; only a few have even responded. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Yeah, it's a helluva loss to the hot rod world. But why should we respond again when all this was discussed and regretted a week ago?
Anyone know how to contact them regarding missing parts on a set of traction bars I received last week?
Thats a drag, apart from being a great company, I was trying to sort out my master cylinder with them, had an email on the 12th to contact them, but being in the UK, the time difference meant that i hadn't.readin this post, I Just tried, according to the answerphone message, they shut on the 15th. wish they's put something in the email they sent me 3 days earlier. Oh well....
Check out Magnum Suspension. It is not the old Magnum Axle! top shelf stuff. The only forged SS spindles available I think.
When I bought a dropped axle from them over two years ago it was a SoCal. They told me that when I bought it.
Stopped by there yesterday. They have already sold out of a lot of parts. Jeanne was there and a few guys boxing up parts to send out. Sad to see an end to this great company.
Why was no attempt made to sell it whole?!?!?!? I talked to an uncle that was in the business, he figured it was worth at least a million dollars - and he isn't the type to BS about such things. Eli
