I talked with the owner of the 34 roadster. He has owned it since 1962. He bought it as a worn out drag car in '62 !!!!! He bought it from the guy with the 32 roadster parked next to him. Both these guys looked to be in their late 70's.
Actually Naugahyde was invented in Naugatuck by what was then U.S.Royal now Uniroyal. They were one of a number of companies in the Naugatuck river valley. They helped to make the Naugatuck river glow at night do to the chemicals they were discharging into the river. Looked pretty cool as you rode along RT 8 in the dark. They have since cleaned up the river! KK

Kinda hard to tell from the photo but that is THREE carbs. You can see the three fuel lines going to them.
