Just thougtht i'd share the chop I'm doing on my 37' Dodge. Completely inspired by Wizard47. He started doing a 37 Plymouth coupe but never got the chance to finish it. Figured I could somehow pick up where his thread left off. Big shoes to fill though. When I bought the car about 8 months ago from a fellow Hamber, I wasn't sure what direction I was going with. Always wanted a chopped coupe but never had the opportunity to build one for myself. I was just going to get it running and use it as a beater but shop got busy and the car sat. Figured I might as well do something with it now that winter is here. I will say that I didn't originally intend to lean the roof back like this. After seeing Wizard's thread, I was convinced it was the only chop I wanted. Random notes: Mustang II 4 link Was on coilovers, but will be converted to air 440 motor. A518 Trans Previous owner tacked on 1939 dodge lights on the fenders. I was gonna go with it but opted to keep originals instead. Now for the good stuff: Took 3" off the A-pillars. Moved the rear glass forward 3" and leaned it 10 degrees. This is where I left off as of Monday (11/6/2017).
Looks very nice going to be a smooth look I am building a 37 Plymouth sedan I don't plan on chopping mine, but I really like the way yours looks. Hobo Jim
Thanks for the feedback fellas. I made some progress and shaped out the left sail panel. night and day difference
quarter windows will be deleted. So basically going from a 5 window to a 3 window now. The quarter window area will have a bead roll step that follows the factory line. The drip rail will be extended downward 6" to meet it. I'll take a close up picture soon
Not chop related but here's the '34 bumper I'm using. The inverted peak flows better with the grill. Whereas the Dodge bumper is straight across. This is the only non mopar item I'm gonna use.
