    MR CLEAN

I just purchased the Holy Grail of Hot Rods in MY opinion from a good friend that I have wanted since I was a young boy going to car shows with my Father. I have always liked the look of the '32 Three Window Ford Coupe. I have my hands full with this Deuce Build and appreciate everyone's suggestions and idea's. Please post all your comments both Good and Bad regarding the pictures I post in this thread. The car was built in Tulsa, Oklahoma at some point when the early Black and White picture was taken below I was told by my good friend. I would appreciate any help in knowing the past History of this Original Henry Steel '32 Three Window Ford Coupe.

If Mike didn’t unearth it’s past, in the time he owned it; I doubt anyone else can. The man has an amazing ability, when it comes to tracing history. That’s a real nice one to start with.

Thanks 31Apickup for your feedback, I am still thinking that I can build this '32 in so many different directions as I have been staring at my new Project for hours ever since I rolled it out of my enclosed trailer into my garage. Do I put Full Fenders back onto the ‘32 is one direction that I could go or build it as pictured in the Black and White photograph? The car is already Channeled 3 Inches, so a Heavy Chop could become a drivability issue as I am ‘6 Feet Tall. Would I want to just Clear over the current Body as it is very solid or strip it down and paint the entire car? I know for sure that I will work to repair and straighten the Original 32 Ford Grill pictured below as my first step. I would like to hear what everyone would do if this Deuce was in their garage.

Since it is channeled I would return it to how it was originally built.

If its channeled 3" alread, I would hate to see you notch that shell just so the top of the shell matches the top of the cowl. That is a very nice grill/shell.

  14. I like the channel, how it still shows a little hint of frame
wonder what the rocker and lower cowl would look like shaped to match the frame reveal line?

are those old wheels on adapters? or 5 on 5.5 originally?

I did see that car when it was for sale before. It had all the original garnish, good dash with glove box lid, unfilled roof and cowl vent. IMO it would be criminal to chop it. If it were mine, I would unchannel it with Brookville 3W floor sills. It also has the stock "K" member and wishbone, F-1 steering box, and a `39 type trans. So I think a flathead would do it justice.

Thanks big deuce for your feedback, you are correct as I got the Deuce from Guffey in Indiana. The car currently has the Original Heavy Front Straight Axle that came with the car when it was built at the Factory in ‘32, since this thread recently lost a few replies with the crash. Would you please big deuce recommend again the individuals on the H.A.M.B that would be able to drop the Axle with pictures of their work you posted prior to crash? Since I work in the IT field I am just relieved that the entire thread was not lost. I greatly appreciate Ryan and the Administrators for getting the Best Site on the Internet up and running again so quickly.

Great looking 3Window, Guffey must have found another race car or is working on he has. First thing I'd do is remove the springs and mock up a finished ride height just to get an idea what the rear would look like sitting 10 inches lower, then bolt on the fenders.

To me 32's don't need chopped. Definitely would like a little lower ride height though.

IMO ... I would not chop and leave the channel, if cutting the grill is that big o deal get another and hang the cherry on the wall...

Mine was pretty unmolested, and had hot rod history as a full fendered car. So I could not bring myself to cut it up.
I think it would be really cool to build it like it was with no chop and a channel.

Build a real nice chassis first. Then put in some seats and see if you can sit in it comfortably with a small chop, maybe 3" to match the channel.

No flatty, no fenders, lots of Chrome and nice paint in any colour other than maroon.
