The space left over for seats after the installation of the driveshaft tunnel is pretty narrow. GLIDE seats are too wide. A bench would be too high over the height of the tunnel. I have tried an early VW seat but it is too wide. I like the mounting rails and height. I am considering trying to narrow some VW seat frames to fit. Any suggestions of other seats. I can't exceed 16" at the front of the frame.

  2. What we used to do was cut the bench to clear the tunnel. Makes for a rough ride if you sit in the middle. LOL

If you want the "period" look, the MG, Triumph, Austin Healy buckets from the early 60's were pretty popular, I know they won't be the smartest decision financially though.

If your car is that narrow, it's hard to believe anyone will be sitting in the middle.

I built these seats for a model a interior I did ( not my car )
They are mid 50s MG seat tracks ( and seat bottom shape) with hinges at the front and I built the backrest ( also hinges forward) to fit the car.
