  2. Boy, those Lee lens ads still make the old heart beat a little faster. I used to love to look at the car shop ads in the back of the little books and check 'em out.
I've tried to collect them over the years, but it's a slow process. I had an NOS pair of '57 Ford lenses and an NOS set of '60 Impala lenses, as well as a few others.
I still have the Impala ones, but my late buddy Charlie talked me out of the Ford ones to go on his '57 Ranchero about twelve years ago. It ended up overseas in Europe somewhere.

In this picture you can see ol' Charlie standing in front of his Ranch. In the background you can see a little of my '62 Buick and "Paso John" Tretten's wild '64 Chebby wagon. That was at the Flying Eyeball Reunion in Davenport, Iowa back in 2004. Long drive but man we had a ball. Damn I miss Charlie..........E

I have them in my 52. Yes they are the new ones but they work very good and can be seen even in the bright sun. After trying many different older stock tails I went with these because they really do refract the light from the bulbs and I don't need to be rear ended because of brake lights not showing in the day time. At night they have a very cool glow to them. Old is way cool but new Work. black n blue all over 074.jpg

Went with the repops on the wagon after ruining a couple pairs of 56 Buick lenses trying to get them to fit the way I wanted them to. Their decent but definitely don't look as cool as the Buick lenses.

  6. Mark, I don't suppose you have any pics of the Lee lenses for a 57 Chevy - not the taillight lens replacements, but the big molded lenses that replaced the housing and all? Only pic I've ever seen was in an old catalog and I would like to see what they would look like on an actual vehicle.....

Moriarty, or any one else, have you ever ran across a bullet lens to replace the tail light housing marker light on a 49-50 chevy? I have seen one photo of such an application, and would really like to have a pair for my 50.

I spy 56-61 Beetle tail lights! They had some cool lenses in them.

20170810_203237.jpg Side by side view of 55 chevy lights. Newer Lee lenses but I like the cleaner look.

  23. So I guess the old originals are more opaque than the repros. Mine must be the repros. I have had them for years but they look more like the modern versions. Anyway, they were the first mod on my list when I decided to do a 56 Chebby.

    Old thread update..
About 2 weeks ago, I ordered a pr of the lenses for the 55 Chev. Talked to Johnny, sent the money order.
No response. So, tried to get on the site and find out what's up..
    Site subscription has been cancelled.o_O
Might someone have his number, as I have lost it.
