I like it, just wondering if wrap on the grille shell down from where the bottom edge of the hood top will come would set it off even more.
    Just a thought

So as promised, Saturday, we rolled the Coupe in the shop and moved the MSD Box from "In Front Of God And Everybody" to tucked away up under the dash. Looks like I need an Alliance Tag for the Cowl Now...I wonder if I reported mine stolen if Ryan would replace it...LOL!

Also check this out. I went trolling on Ebay for some stock Chevrolet Script Valve covers as reported earlier. I thought I had this pair as they had been on there for 5 days with no bids and a $40 starting price.

    1.jpg
But the last day of the Auction someone bid $41. So I upped my offer to $60. It took the rest of the afternoon for it to eek up $1 at a time but finally I got outbid at $61. I really didn't want to pay much more than that but the big indoor car show was looming so I bumped it to $80. Sure enough, I lost them by $1.

I opened the email notification saying I had lost the auction. At the bottom it said something like maybe I would be interested in one of the following similar items. There was a much nicer set on a buy it now $50 or make an offer. I offered $40, the seller excepted and they actually arrived today!

I sure am grateful to the Ebay idiot who stole the others for twice the price...LOL! Now we just have to paint them to match the new wrap and we are good for the Hot Rod Holidays Car Show!:D

    Much improved. <golf clap>

Also, now I have the urge to slide up Glenstone and hit the double decker for lunch. London calls!

Holy cow. Nice transformation, but even more, are those valve covers really bringing that much? I paid 5 bucks for 5 of them a couple years ago at a swap. I was going to cut one up for another project but maybe not now.

  10. Major makeover !! Outstanding
I got these for free at the scrap yard, I'm keeping them until just before I need them.

WELL THEY ARE AT IT AGAIN!

We have had a blast this year with Dad's coupe running an early 60s look etc. But just as we have done every year just before the local indoor car show "Hot Rod Holidays" we are making a few edits that will completely change the little rod again. The first year with the coupe we had really just barely got the car on the road. We added the flames and the Caledonia Kid graphics. Last year we did the three hour transformation seen on this thread.

Resized_20171111_083022.jpeg Check out GEN III there carefully removing the wrap from last year while Grampy as she like to call him contemplates a bit more ominous change up front this year.

As you can see, the five spokes are back on, the graphics are gone, and Austin's original 6-71 is out for a trial fit. We are going for a mid 60s or so drag coupe look this year and the "huffer" looks like it is going to fit like a glove.

It looks like were going to have to move the radiator forward only about a half inch for proper clearance but that is about it as far as major renovations to run the supercharger. AND as usual we are going to change the side graphic a bit. Here is a quick preview art comp of the new look. But have to really get rolling as Hot Rod Holiday is 5 days out!

The blue will be the Atlantis color left over from the Austin's final look and we will go back with the flames and Dad's favorite "Caledonia Kid" gig on the door. I will update you this week as we work our way to the show.

Well she went back together pretty well this afternoon. Good clearance everywhere etc. We had to fab up an alternator bracket but other than that she is you g to for very well.

Well we knocked out the blue back ground this evening. Which is really the hard part. I also gave in Sunday and ordered Hilborn style scoop. The dual air breathers just were not doing it for me. it will be here tomorrow.

Great advertisement for your business, but it looks like a sticker on a hot wheels car.
    No offense just my opinion.

Well we took Dad's rod as shown to the first big cruise in of the season and there were 4 other Duece Coupes in attendance ( no surprise there)...but all 5 of us had the exact same torq thrust rims...lol.

So we went home and took the coupe back to a more 50s look with the Kelsey Hayes and check out the scallops!

I'm not sure about some of the color and detail schemes, but it is cool how quickly you can change the look.

Pistons took too long... Had to fish or cut bait if he wanted it on the road early this year. But the pistons finally rolled in a month ago and we are back on track with the engine build etc....

I know the two of you have gone through a few "trials and tribulations" the last couple of years but I gotta say that what the two of you have going on is something many of us might be jealous of if we were being truthful.
Having a dad that shares the same interests must be without equal.
