Of all the Shoebox Fords with Buick trim, I'd pick the "Connecticut Yankee" as my favorite.

 

Joel, thanks for taking & posting photos of our '54 Bel Air 2dr. post. The light blue is 20+ year old 1st time amateur paint job. I layed out & shot the outlining (in the driveway with the blowing) 3 years ago, Skip striped the car. Some subtle changes, dropped the front bumper, made the front fender spears, dropped the trunk emblem and Brian Austin peaked the hood. Still INLINE w/Corvette 3 sidedraft carbs & exhaust manifold, Joe Hunt mag. CR 5-speed & S-10 4:10 posi rear end. After the 5-speed & gear ratio change, it's really fun to drive.... Dyno Dave

 

This Barris-built cover car posted by rudestude is unusual in that it's a four-door.



This rear shot (from Rikster's) shows the '49 DeSoto rear window.




Also on the cover was this un-chopped Barris four-door.
The article proclaimed them as "California's finest Semi and Full Custom Mercs".

 

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get those pictures of Eldon's 56 Plymouth. They look like ones I shot at Jerry Titus's house in the 80's.

 

I possibly could of got them from you.......no not really...they are from the 1984 Hot Rod Magazine's Custom Painting issue....in a article "Custom Painting Gallery"

This cover was posted on the "What ever happened to...." thread.
I didn't want to de-rail that thread, but it's good to see a shot of the Joe Ortiz/Jimmy Giminez T-Bird in its first version
(before the chop).




The restored car has been re-painted the original "Chicano Purple", but I really like the metalflake green, second version as well. (Note: How many small-Birds have you seen without a hood scoop?)
